Ridge Workday 20th August 2005
Dare we mention the weather being good again? Maybe not. I think
visitors will start to believe it's all a ruse to get people to
join us (but it was really nice - honest).
Yes, the picture says it all.
We're back at that pond again.
It's the 'Oak Tree Pond', our biggest on the Ridge, and we're
having another session to remove the encroaching weed as well
as scoop out some of the 'silt' that's been washed down by the
feed to the pond.
A messy day this one as we all had to wade in. If you want to
see the messy, gory details then click on the picture to the left
to get the full-size version. I warn you though, the size of the
file is large and may take quite a while to load if you don't
have a cable connection.
Elisabeth, Maureen and Lee were on weed removal duty, whilst
Mike, Peter and Bob had the task of removing the silt and mud
to make a deeper area on the side of the pond where the feed entered.
All-in-all, another successful day - just hope the pond-life
appreciates it.
